What happened at the 3D Studio?

By Madelyn Alexander, Editor in chief

Montevallo Fire and Rescue Services were on campus on Thursday, Oct. 20, responding to a fire at the 3D Art Complex.

The fire started around 4:43 p.m. in one of the kilns on the ceramics side of the building. The kiln had new burners installed earlier that day.

The fire set off the alarms and sprinklers system in the building. No injuries were reported and there were no classes happening at the time of the fire.

In addition to Montevallo Fire and Rescue Services, multiple units from Shelby County Battalion One responded to the fire, as well as the Alabaster and Calera Fire Departments.
