The Alabamian has been UM’s student newspaper since 1924 and covers a wide variety of local news, features and entertainment. We take pride in providing a forum for the views of members of the University community and accurately reporting the news to our readers. The newspaper gives aspiring journalists, copy editors, photographers and page designers a publication for developing skills and friendships that last a lifetime!
The Alabamian is entirely run by students of the University of Montevallo, and is independent of any influence from University officials, faculty or staff.
The Alabamian is dedicated to keeping the members of the University’s faculty, staff and students informed and doing so in an ethical manner.
