The NRA is suing the State of Florida over new legislation passed in wake of the Parkland school shooting. While these new regulations make many changes to Florida Law, the NRA is challenging age restrictions proposed in the legislation that would raise the minimum age to purchase a firearm to 21.

The association says that changing the age requirement from 18 to 21 is unconstitutional, citing the Second and Fourteenth Amendments as the basis for the lawsuit. The NRA is arguing that 18-year-olds are considered adults in other constitutional contexts, so 18-year-olds should be considered adults under the Second Amendment as well.  That however, will be up to a judge in the Northern District of Florida to decide.

Shelby Baptist Medical Center is undergoing a $22 million renovation. This will not only give a much needed upgrade to the hospital, but will continue the development of the City of Alabaster. The hospital was originally built in the 1950s and has been continually expanded upon since then.

The Baptist Health System recently finalized a merger with Brookwood Medical Center and renovations to the building will begin shortly. Other developments close to the hospital started with the opening of K & J’s Elegant Pastries. Several new restaurants have also opened just next door, included Taziki’s, Jimmy John’s, and Pizza Hut.

Relations between the U.K. and Russia are tense after the poisoning of an ex-Russian double agent, Sergei Skripal, and his daughter, Yulia. The two were found collapsed in a shopping center in Salisbury, England.

It was later discovered that the two had been poisoned with a nerve agent. Traces of the nerve agent were also found in a restaurant in the shopping center, leading to concerns about a wider safety risk.

While nothing has been proven yet, the U.K. strongly suspects this attack was sanctioned by the Russian government. U.K. Prime Minister, Theresa May, is discussing sanctions against Russia based on this incident.
