Halloween Hilarity: Comedy Killers Perform in Anna Irvin

By Daniel Sanders

On Oct 14, Comedy Killers Comedy Murder Mysteries performed for a large audience of students and guests in Anna Irvin dining hall.

The event was lively, loud, and loony, as every person in attendance was committed to the bit and fully invested in the story being told. According to Caroline Coats, Assistant UPC Coordinator, attendance doubled from when the event was held last semester. “I think having the event during the fall, spooky season, will definitely be the move for the future” and that “The Comedy Killers are so amazing to work with! They’re really good at what they do and we always have a positive experience with them.”

A colorful cast of characters made up potential suspects. Claire Voyant, a self-proclaimed psychic and eccentric femme fatale, Sam Diamond, resent detective, Freddy Jason Michael, a podcaster looking for the next big story and Bernie Hudson, a ghost hunter clad in the original Ghostbuster jumpsuit.

The cast went around the room and talked with the members of the audience. Claire Voyant was doing Tarot readings on students, Bernie was scanning people’s hair for ectoplasm, and Jason was promoting his podcast. Then, Victoria Mary Elisabeth entered the scene, claiming she had gotten a flat tire on the way to a blind date and needed someone to help her. The cast continued to interact with the audience, and as the minutes ticked by students started to notice that Victoria had gone missing from the room.

A hilarious farce ensued as each person claimed their innocence. Possessions, cryptic ghosts, and comically large syringes were revealed as the people in attendance tried to find out who was guilty. Victoria’s body had been found, but who was the killer?

When asked his opinion about the situation, Bernie Hudson said “It’s unfortunate that murder happens.”

In the end, it was revealed that Jason killed Victoria to get a juicy story for his podcast. Sam Diamond took him down, shooting him down as he tried to escape with pop guns.
