Swim team sets new school records at Delta State invitational

The Montevallo Falcons swim team have finished their Christmas Invitational meet at Delta State. The Falcons finished in third place with numerous new PR’s set and multiple school records. The men’s team finished with a total of 1564 points, and the women’s team with 1518 points.  

Josh Sauer set a new school record for the 1650 free and the 1000 free. Sauer led the event and contributed 25 points for the overall score. Lexi Cardwell set a new PR in the 100 fly, as well as Carlee Muncher in the same event. Other PR’s were also set by Katie Mailcoat and Danielle Davis in the 100 breast and the 100 back, respectively.  

The next swim meet will be at Montevallo, on Jan. 7. It will be a NSISC match against Ouachita Baptist. Following COVID-19 protocols, the meet will not be open to the public.
