Esports quarter finals

As Montevallo students begin approaching finals, the Montevallo Overwatch team has finished their first season. They finished with six wins and four losses, losing in the quarter-finals to the University of North Georgia.

Reflecting on their first season, Overwatch captain Ethan “Rev” Bagett said, “I’m really proud of our team and how we performed this season… There’s a lot we can do better on, and I think part of the reason we didn’t get further than we did is my own lack of knowledge in Overwatch.”

At the beginning of the season, the team only had a week to practice and get to know each other before their first match. After the win, they established themselves as “middle to top of the pack” in the conference.

Bagett continued, “Overall though, I feel like this has been a great first season and I’m excited to see where the team goes!”

The team looks forward to the next season, where Bagett says, “for those interested in Overwatch, there’s a high possibility that we will have competitions going on during the Spring semester.”
