PRESIDENT

After several years of service to the Student Government Association, speech language pathology major Tori Irvin will be moving from the role of Vice President to President of SGA. Irvin’s campaign goals consisted of fostering a better connection between UM students and administration and using SGA as a bridge to do so. Furthermore, Irvin seeks to better the audibility of the individual in SGA so students can better voice their opinions regarding specific issues around campus and know their government is listening to any and all comments. Within the organization of SGA, Irvin hopes to build a better, more efficient team on Senate and Executive Cabinet.

VICE PRESIDENT

Winning an unopposed victory, Olivia Eldridge will be entering the position of SGA Vice President for the 2018-19 academic year. In overseeing the Senate, Eldridge hopes to establish better routes of communication between senators and the student body throughout the year. On the positions of communication and efficiency, she seeks to get more use out of Senate committees presiding over the many facets of UM student life. In her campaign, Eldridge sought to represent the voice of the students through proper management of SGA resources on campus.

SENIOR CLASS PRESIDENT

Abigail Rothfeldt will be building and maintaining the legacy of the class of 2019 in the role of Senior Class President. Rothfeldt’s focus for the 2018-2019 Senior Class focuses primarily on senior success. She hopes to accomplish this goal through better organization of senior class meetings and nurturing steady communication among Montevallo’s graduating class. Another main focus for Rothfeldt is creating a legacy of sustainability through environmentally-focused projects and the possibility of a Senior Class group for The Big Event.

TREASURER

After a short run-off election between two candidates, it was announced that junior Alex Weldon will be assuming the position of treasurer. Weldon’s duties will include what he describes as “day-to-day financials,” as well as delegation of funds to clubs and organizations on campus. He encourages anyone with questions or concerns regarding his position to stop by his office on the second floor of Farmer Hall.
