Special Equipment Operator Jimmy Burchfield was airlifted to UAB Trauma Center Oct. 2 after being injured in a work-related accident at the Physical Plant.
Burchfield was attempting to hook a trailer to a tractor in the physical plant equipment yard when the tractor rolled over his chest.
The extent of his injury is unknown at this time, however, according to Director of Public Relations Jamie Bessette, Burchfield was conscious on departure. As of 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2, he was in stable condition.
No students were involved in the accident.
